Elaine began her yoga journey over 20 years ago, practicing with her husband as part of a “date night”. Together they fell in love with the feeling of well-being offered by yoga. It was a perfect complement to their mixed martial arts training – improving balance and flexibility while building strength.
Elaine went on to study with various teachers in many styles – Vinyasa Flow, Iyengar, Power Yoga, Yoga Fit, Couples/Partner Yoga and was inspired to become a teacher herself. She completed the Level 1 Yoga Teacher Training with YogaFit (Beth Shaw) in 2013 and began teaching yoga to her co-workers in a corporate environment. She also taught yoga to her martial arts students as a way to stretch and wind down after a strenuous class. In 2015 she studied under Christa Mastrangelo Joyce at Jala Yoga and completed the 200 Hour Teacher Training Program.
Her classes use flowing movement and the breath to encourage her students to find strength, flexibility and balance in their bodies and in their lives.
