Katherine Berger found yoga in 2000 after back pain and sciatica sidelined her for almost a year. Katherine is a RYT-200 Shiva Rea’s Prana Vinyasa Flow under the mentorship of Maria Garre. She has furthered her studies toward a 500 certification with Maria Garre and Shiva Rea as well as augmenting her training in yoga therapy, restorative yoga, and Ayuryoga with various well-respected teachers. In her classes, Katherine shares her experience in cultivating a sense of inner balance, clarity, strength and compassion, as well as practical physical strength and flexibility to serve the flow of life. She seeks to integrate rhythmic breathing with conscious movement.
Katherine also offers private yoga sessions using Ayurvedic (the science of life) practices to offer a grounded yet transformative approach to living, being, and embodying Yoga.
Blending the knowledge she has gathered from her studies, Katherine creates dynamic and liberating classes and trainings that embody the alchemy of all these disciplines and teachings. The greatest lessons she has learned from her teachers, human and animal alike, are full-spectrum living, the power of presence, and the transformation that happens by living an interconnected life. Time off the mat is dedicated to equestrienne pursuits, working with the Jane Goodall Institute and the occasional tennis match.
